DAIGA KELLER, LCSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker licensed to practice in Colorado and Texas with more than a decade of experience as a counselor, program manager, trainer, and supervisor in mental health and victim services fields. In 2008, I earned my graduate degree from the Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. Additionally, I hold an undergraduate degree in psychology from North Central University.

Professional and personal growth is one of my values and I make learning part of my lifestyle engaging in regular consultations, and educational opportunities.  I find that it is very helpful to have multiple options in my professional tool box working with clients’ from a wide-variety of backgrounds in my attempt to meet each of their unique needs. I am EMDR certified clinician and often work with clients helping them overcome trauma symptoms (anxiety, depression, relational and occupational issues). Currently, I am working towards certification in the Internal Family Systems Model. I am also Certified Yoga teacher and have offered trauma informed yoga classes to many client populations. Additionally, I hold certifications in trauma informed art therapy.

Values that guide my life and work: unconditional care for people, growth, humility, respect, vulnerability and honesty.

I value community engagement and self-care in support of lifestyle of wellness and have led multiple fundraising efforts, while running in the local Colfax Marathon relays and Women’s Iron events to support breast cancer research and victim services.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Often I hear people say they feel safe, supported, and free to address issues they struggle with when they enter my office. I am committed to creating a supportive space in which your needs can be addressed.

Daiga is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I wouldn’t be anywhere close to where I am at right now without Daiga. She is the most intelligent, educated therapist I have had. She always listens and has a way to give me tools I need; I always walk out feeling amazing.

MY SPECIALIZATIONS

Eclectically, as appropriate, I am trained and use: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman’s Couples Therapy, Strengths Based Solution- Focused Therapy, Crises Intervention, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Trauma-Informed Art Therapy, Trauma-Informed Yoga therapy (CYT 200).

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT): This focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems. Originally, it was designed to treat depression, but its use has been expanded to include treatment of a number of mental health conditions, including anxiety.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR): A major focus of my work is with adults who have survived trauma and who are dealing with grief, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and self-esteem issues. Often people are unaware that they are living with the impact of trauma. They are instead struggling with depression, anxiety, or medical issues that disguise the underlying origins and prevent lasting change.

Trauma may originate in childhood and include emotional, physical, sexual, or spiritual abuse. It may also be the result of experiences such as natural disasters, accidents, unexpected death, and other events that are experienced as traumatic to a particular person of any age.

Participating in trauma work can create an amazingly different perspective on the past and on possibilities for the future. Trauma does not have to define us. If you are interested in knowing more about therapy for trauma, please visit EMDR Therapy.
